Both have been linked with the manager's job at the Premiership title holders following Brendan Rodgers' resignation on the start of the week.

The Manager's Position on The Scottish Club

The Ipswich boss referred to the Glasgow giants as "an enormous soccer institution" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "long-term project" with Ipswich Town.

The mid-thirties took charge of Ipswich in recent years and led them to the Premier League with consecutive elevations, but they managed only four games last campaign as they were demoted back to the Championship and they presently occupy twelfth place in England's second tier.

"There have been any of those discussions," the English capital native former Northern Ireland youth international said when asked about being on the candidate list.

"It's not something I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my concentration is currently.

"I have a special job here at a special team. And we're at a crucial stage of the campaign. Anything outside of that hasn't reached my radar."

Background and Agreement Details

Reports indicate that the manager would be open to speaking to Celtic given his boyhood allegiances.

"Growing up, we all have our affinities," he said when asked about those. "It's unlikely everyone has to publicly and announce what they were, but naturally it's a massive football club."

The coach agreed to a fresh four-year contract in 2024 and was questioned about his reported buyout clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are things," he responded. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, were I informed, I wouldn't tell you regardless!

"I approach this job like I will remain Ipswich manager indefinitely. I understand that's not always going to be the case, but I'll always do my best as while I am here."

The Welsh Coach's Position

Bellamy represented the Hoops on loan from Newcastle United in 2005, but the ex- Wales forward is inclined to complete the ongoing global tournament qualification, a stance that would effectively rule out the 46-year-old from immediately taking the Celtic job.

The Welsh squad are currently in third place in their qualifying group behind leaders the Red Devils and second-placed North Macedonia.

Victories over Liechtenstein and their rivals in next month would book their place in the qualification play-offs, but they are all but guaranteed of making those, due to a productive Nations League performance, should they fail to end up their group second place.

Considering his present position, the Wales manager, whose agreement concludes after the European Championship, would be unavailable until after the play-offs at the earliest.
